Our mission
Most homeowners overpay for repairs for one reason: they do not know what is wrong. Without a diagnosis, every option looks equally risky, so people either call a professional for a nine-dollar part or postpone a real problem until it becomes an expensive one.
TOOLA exists to close that information gap. Photograph what is broken, get an honest diagnosis, understand your options, and then decide — with the same information a tradesperson would have walking into the room.
Who builds it
TOOLA is built by Nathaniel Godol, a licensed contractor who runs GDL Exterior Solutions, a home-services business in North Jersey. The repair logic, the safety boundaries, and the decision to route certain jobs straight to a professional all come from real service calls rather than from a product roadmap.
Guides published on this site are written and reviewed by that same contractor, and reference manufacturer instructions and published safety guidance where relevant.
Where the product stands today
TOOLA is in active development. The app is not yet publicly available on the App Store or Google Play, and a private beta is opening to waitlist members ahead of launch. Screens shown on this website are from in-development builds.
We publish no download counts, ratings, user totals, or aggregate savings figures, because we do not have verified numbers to publish. When we do, we will say where they came from.

Every diagnosis shows the realistic DIY path and the professional path, including when the honest answer is to hire it out.
Track receipts and warranties
Scan a receipt or a data plate and TOOLA files the store, date, price, model and serial into your home's records — so covered repairs get claimed, not paid for twice.
Manage maintenance by property
Seasonal reminders and service history organized per property, for homeowners and small landlords managing more than one address.
Who this site serves
First-time homeowners buying their first real tools, long-time owners maintaining an aging house, renters handling small fixes, and small landlords tracking maintenance across a handful of properties. The common thread is people who would rather understand a problem than be sold a solution.
How we make money
Two ways, both stated plainly. TOOLA plans to offer a paid subscription tier alongside a free tier when the app launches. And this website participates in retailer affiliate programs, which means we may earn a commission when a reader buys a recommended tool through an eligible link, at no additional cost to the reader.
